Mission Statement

Our goal here at Campaign is to help you train your puppies and adult dogs to be wonderful canine citizens. This training is done in a safe, positive manner in order to build the bond between human and animal.  Through this training, we aim to have you achieve the goals you set for yourself and your companion. We train by positive motivational methods. It is also our hope for you as owners to enjoy your time here at our facility and to build friendships along the way. Welcome to our Campaign Family!

Staff Overview

Campaign has without a doubt, some of Canada’s best instructors at all teaching levels. Whether you’re training your puppy to have proper house manners or to enjoy a canine sport, we have the team to help you along the way, creating a lifetime of success!

 

Campaign has a team of 20 instructors and staff; some of the instructors have been with Campaign for over 30 years.

 

Many of our instructors compete to the top levels in obedience, rally, confirmation and agility. Several instructors and their dogs have held the #1 dog in the Canada for breed and all breeds. Many have competed not only in Canada and the USA but internationally as well, achieving titles in their respective dog sports.

 

Our Campaign Team of instructors consist of various certified qualifications. Many are breeders themselves, some focus on canine behaviour and keeping apprised to current scientific based training. Some have veterinarian experience backgrounds. Several are active CKC, UKC, AKC and BKC Judges. With all this experience combined you can be sure we will keep all our students up to date on current positive training techniques.

 

Dave Jones our Business Manager works along alongside with Scotty, our Facilities Manager to keep all the operations in tiptop shape.

Deb started obedience training in 1981 with a Sheltie named Lady, when she wanted a well-trained dog to walk beside her daughter’s stroller. Hooked by the obedience bug, Deb has gone on to achieve the following with her Shelties: OTCH Glenmargo's Liddle Lady Am/Bda. UD, #1 Obedience dog in Canada in 1989. (Lady -1981 - 1994) OTCH Gallantry New Horizon Am CDX -(Bailey -1983 - 1997) 

 

The following homebred Shelties have followed: OTCH Shelwin Tux N Tails, Am. UDX, BDA UD, CGC, HIT. Brock' placed #1 all breeds in 1993, with multiple top 10 rankings over the years (1989 - 2003) MOTCh Shelwin Liddle Nips and Tux Am CDX, BDA UD, AGX, VMAD Tailor' placed #7 all Breeds for 2001, with multiple breed rankings.

MOTCh Shelwin's One and Only AM UD Bda UD, AGI AGIJ AGDC AADC MJDC BDA OA NJ. Solo is one of Deb's current competition dog in agility.

 

Deb had her first CKC conformation CH his name is Brevmac’s Pen and Ink “QUILL”. Quill is a multi group placing dog. He was expertly handled by Shelley McHugh –Boumans.

 

Deb is currently competing with  Solo's daughter Tag, UKC Ch and CKC Ch. OTCh Shelwin's Keep N Time Amer CD CGN RX AGI and AGIJ Tag obtained her Championship with her good friend Graeme Burdon.  Tag was Deb’s first home bred Champion.

 

Tag’s puppy from 2008, Tissot, (Shelwin Keep N Tick N PCD CD) is the 5th generation of Shelwin dogs. Tissot is co-owned with Holly Rhodes and they have made the Canadian nationals in agility in their first year of training together. The puppies from this litter have obtained many HITS in both the USA and Canada and are competing in agility and rally.

 

Deb then purchased a female blue merle sheltie from Heather Walton at Aberdale Shelties. Nautica, called Noti  for short, has her UKC CH and  CKC CH. Noti is currently training in obedience and agility with Deb and shows great promise.

 

In 2011, Deb and Solo qualified for and competed in the Canadian Agility Nationals. The team had several group placements and brought home a string of ribbons.

Tag and Deb started 2012 by going Highest Scoring dog in her division at the American Shetland sheepdog national in Kissimmee Florida in agility.

 

Deb then went to the Canadian National Sheltie Specialty and went overall high in trial in agility. Tag was asked to try out for the Canadian agility team going to worlds and also the Canadian obedience team going to Crufts in England. Tag has proved herself to be a very good agility and obedience dog.

 

Although Tag was doing mostly agility she found time with Deb also to obtain her OTCHX and MOTCH in obedience in July.

 

Nautica Deb`s young Ch.blue merle sheltie co-owned with Heather Walton of Aberdale shelties obtained her PCD in September and her agility training is going great. Nautica will start trialing in rally also in October and will look forward to the Syracuse sheltie specialty in November and her 2012-2013 winter in Florida with Tag.

 

Nautica obtained her Rally Excellent in July 2013.  Most recently she placed 3rd in Ontario West agility regionals which allowed her to compete at the Nationals in Sussex NB.  Here she received 2 individual placement ribbons. Noti received her Bermuda CD with 2 HITS in October 2014 and received 8 out of 9 first places in agility and got her Rally novice also. In December 2014, Noti got her CD in Canada with 2 first place ribbons and some nice scores.

Tag in 2014 won the Ontario West Regionals with Leslie Marshall as her handler.  They went on to compete at the Nationals in Sussex as well.  Here they received individual ribbons from different classes including a 2nd place.

 

Deb has now added a Tag granddaughter to the Shelwin family.  She welcomes Roots (Zippy (Tag daughter) x Shiver )  She is a little blue merle – Shelwins It’s N The Genes.  Roots will get started on her agility career in Florida in the winter of 2015.

Over the years, Deb has earned over 280 High in Trials, and 11 scores of 200. She has also placed in the World Series in the US with Brock. Deb hasp placed in the top ten obedience dogs in Canada 10 times with two # 1 placements

 

Deb has also coached a great number of dogs in the top ten in Obedience in Canada for the past 15 years or more. Two of her students placed number #1. Paula & Ice in 2000 and Kim & Briar in 2002. Deb herself was #1 in 1989 and 1993 with two different shelties.

 

Deb owns and operates a very progressive Obedience Training Facility in Georgetown, ON. Campaign Dog Academy Inc. offers instruction for many dog sports, including Obedience, Agility , Rally O and private lessons. She specializes in problem solving and handling for the competitive obedience dog and handler, both group and private instruction. Campaign consistently turns out dogs in the top ten in obedience in Canada each year as well as top five in their respected breeds and groups.

 

Debbie is a licensed CKC, AKC, BKC & UKC Obedience Judge, since 1995 and now has branched into judging Rally.
