Leslie Marshall
Leslie’s first experience with
formal obedience training was in
1986, with a Wire-haired Fox
Terrier, earning a Can/Am CD.
Wanting a small, non-shedding
dog that was a little more
willing to please, she obtained
her first Miniature Schnauzer in
1987.
It was in 1987 that Leslie met
Deb at a show. Deb was
campaigning ‘Lady', and invited
Leslie to train with her. Soon
afterwards, Campaign Dog
Obedience was started, and
Leslie helped design and assist
classes.
Leslie specializes in Campaign’s
foundation training for Open and
Utility, primarily through the
use of behavior shaping. She
also teaches competitive puppy
classes, as well as private
lessons. Over the years, Leslie
has also trained a Doberman to a
CD, and a Golden Retriever to an
AM UD. She also finds time to
groom not only her own dogs, but
many others for other clients as
well.
Leslie breeds Miniature
Schnauzers, under the Marwyn
prefix. She shows her dogs in
conformation, obedience and
agility, and has earned many
HIT’s and breed/group rankings
along the way. Many of the dogs
she has bred have excelled in
dog sports, both in Canada and
the US. Incidentally, Leslie
works full time as a Registered
Veterinary Technician.
Leslie keeps abreast of the
newest trends and changes in
obedience training and canine
behavior by regularly attending
seminars and lectures put on by
some of the top trainers and
behaviorists in the world.
In January, 2008, Leslie
finished the lengthy
requirements for her obedience
judges’ license, and is approved
to judge Novice, Open and
Utility.

I
purchased my first dog, a happy
tri sheltie named Laddie, in
March.1988. I did this, after
having two major back surgeries
and realizing that I would not
be able to return to work.
Laddie
opened up a whole new life for
me. I went on to trial him to
his utility title in Canada,
Bermuda and the States. I also
campaigned him in 1991 to the
#10 obedience dog in Canada.
Unfortunately, I lost Laddie to
cancer in October 2002. The same
year, I lost my second sheltie
Dexter also to cancer.
I
presently own two shelties, a 13
year old blue merle, and a 5
year old bi-black. My blue boy
has obedience titles in Canada,
Bermuda and the States, as well
as his conformation
championship. My biggest thrill
was in October 2006 when my
bi-black earned his Grand master
obedience trial championship and
also placed #2 All breed for
2006.
I met
Debbie Desjardine in 1989. We
became good friends and
traveling companions. Our
obedience trials took us to
Canada, the States and Bermuda
and I have been teaching at
Campaign since that time.
I received
my judging license in May 1997,
and I had the honor of receiving
the 2001 Pedigree Pal Obedience
judge of the year.
Any free
time I have, I enjoy reading,
gardening and traveling with my
husband.

I
acquired my first obedience dog
in the form of a rambunctious
female Wheaten puppy, Molly, in
spring of 1995. I set about
finding the best school for both
of us to learn about training
and showing in obedience and in
the fall of 1995 we found
Campaign. I loved the
camaraderie of both the students
and instructors. Everyone
seemed to be having a good time
(both students and teachers).
The instructors were very
knowledgeable and skilled at
passing on their knowledge to us
newbie’s. Molly and I proceeded
to have the time of our life and
in 1997 we got our first CD
title. Shortly after, I was
invited to start assisting
classes at Campaign and
eventually teaching as well.
Molly and I earned our Canadian
and American C.D. and our
Canadian C.D.X. We were in the
top 5 Wheatens in Canada in
1998, 1999 and were #10 Terrier
and #2 Wheaton in 1998. In 2001,
Molly was diagnosed with
Protein- Losing disease (an all
too common disease in Wheatens)
so we stopped Obedience (as she
was finding it too stressful)
and tried our hand at Agility.
In the fall at the Royal Winter
Fair she got her first and only
agility title and we both had a
blast doing it. Sadly in March
of 2002, I had to say good bye
to a dog that gave me such joy,
brought so many of my dreams to
life and introduced me to this
wonderful world of dog sports.
Emma, my second Wheaten Terrier,
joined our family in the summer
of 2001 as a happy-go-lucky 10
month old. Of course we plunged
right into training with both
feet and came up swimming. She
earned her Canadian and American
CD in 2003, her Canadian CDX and
UKC CD in 2004, passed her CGN
test with flying colours in
2005, and also got her UCDX and
her Rally Novice title (CARO) in
2005, finally she got her
Advanced Rally title (CARO) in
2006. We trained hard in
Utility but true to her terrier
nature, although she has a great
time, her agenda and mine don’t
seem to mesh at trials and the
elusive title continues to evade
us. At the end of 2007, I
decided to retire her and she is
now living with my daughter and
her two little dogs and loves
being a couch potato and queen
of the castle.
In
2002, I discovered the
Schapendoes and immediately fell
in love with the breed – a
disheveled, always joyful breed
with the herding desire for
working and learning. Taya
arrived in November of 2002 and
we have never looked back. In
2003 she became the first
Schapendoes to get her Rare
Breed of South Western Ontario
Championship which included a
“best puppy in show”. In 2004,
she got her Rally Novice (CARO),
UCD & CKC CD. In 2005, she got
her Rally Advanced (CARO) and
passed her CGN. In 2006, she
got her NAMBR CD, CKC CDX, and
UCDX. In 2007, she got her
NAMBR CDX with 2 High In Trials
and also her CKC Agility Novice
Jumper and her Agility Dog of
Canada (AAC). She was the #1
Schapendoes in obedience in
Canada both in 2006 and 2007.
Taya has also given me my first
experiences in raising puppies,
she had her first litter in 2005
and second in 2007 – another of
my dreams realized and exceeding
my expectations (I just love
having puppies).
Our
newest member of the family is
another Schapendoes, Rowena (Ro
to her friends), who came to us
in 2006. When I met her mom for
the first time, I knew I wanted
one of her puppies and Ro is a
delight - mischievous, joyful,
smart and a delight to train.
She got her UKC championship in
2007 including a “Reserve Best
In Show” at only 14 months. She
is well on her way to competing
in obedience, rally and agility
– I can hardly wait.
Teaching classes at Campaign has
given me a better understanding
of my own dogs; and the variety
of puppies, dogs and people
challenge me to become a better
trainer and person. Attending
seminars each year enriches my
knowledge of dog behaviour and
helps keep me abreast of new and
different training techniques.
Campaign and all the people
involved, have allowed me to
achieve a life long dream and I
am enjoying every minute of it.

I met my first Bull Terrier at
16 and it was love at first
sight! After University,
marriage and beginning my career
as a teacher, my second Bull
Terrier, Torque, came into my
life. I began taking puppy
classes with her at Campaign.
It was during this time that I
began to learn more about the
behaviour side of dog training
as Torque challenged me around
every corner! I began reading
books about dog behaviour and
participating in numerous
seminars put on by renowned
canine behaviouralists.
In 1995, I began assisting puppy
classes at Campaign. I then
became an instructor,
incorporating my behaviour
knowledge into the puppy and
advanced puppy classes.
In 2000, I resigned my human
teaching position and started my
own business, Connecting with
Canines. I offer private
in-home consultations for people
with puppies or adult dogs, with
an emphasis on household
behaviour issues and basic
obedience.
I continue to teach puppy
classes at Campaign and to
assist people with household
behaviour issues. I also
continue to read and attend
seminars to keep up-to-date on
the latest behaviour and
training methods.
I am currently training my puppy
Zoe in Agility and Obedience.

I have
been affiliated with Campaign
since 1996. The school has been
such a great place to train and
learn, that I feel very lucky to
be part of the staff and be in a
position to pass on skills that
I have found valuable in
training my own dogs.
I purchased my first obedience
dog, "Drava" -- a female
Rottweiler, in 1991. She was a
friendly, outgoing girl who went
on to earn a BH, American TD and
TDX, Canadian TD, as well as
both Canadian and American CDX
titles. I had to retire Drava at
the age of 3 due to health
issues.
My second obedience dog, "Iko",
arrived in 1993. He was a great
companion and went on to become
my shining star in the obedience
ring. Canadian/American OTCH,
U-UD Roborott's Jeriko von Arras
BH, TD, HIC, TT, CGC won a
combined 123 HITs in CKC, AKC
and UKC events. We attained
multiple 200 scores and placed
at the World Series and the HIT
of HITs. Iko placed twice in
"Dogs in Canada" Top 10
all-breed ranking and remains as
the most titled Rottweiler in
the CKC points system.
Roborott's Tranquil Titan,
Canadian/American CDX, BH, TT,
CGC was purchased in 1998 from
the same breeder as both Drava
and Iko. He was a strong-willed,
outgoing boy and I unfortunately
had to retire him early
due to health issues.
I took a break from obedience
and competition, and upon my
return in 2005 I surprised many
of my competitive friends by
stepping into the ring with a
sporting breed. My present
competition dog is a female
Weimaraner, Echobar's Double
Impact CDX, N-CDX, U-CD. "Asia"
is a very special girl who has
done very well with limited
showing. To her credit she has
earned 16 HITs in her first year
of competing and continues to
improve as we work toward our
future goals. Asia is also
overseeing the training of her
younger canine brother,
Ambertrail's Triple Play
("Trip"), a male Golden
Retriever and my newest
prospect.
I look forward to teaching,
competing and meeting new people
in the dog sport realm.

I grew up
with various horses, dogs,
rabbits & birds sharing my life.
After marriage in 1975 I trained
and competed in Barrel racing
but too many knee to barrel
collision (this was before knee
pads & helmets were allowed)
forced my retirement. At this
same time my husband and I
raised and bred Chow Chows for
18 years on a limited basis and
produced some very stable
outgoing puppies at a time when
the Chow was getting a bad rap.
In 1996 we
acquired our first Sheltie &
first Obedience dog and in early
1997 I began taking classes at
Campaign Dog Academy at the old
location in Brampton. In 1998 I
was asked to assist classes and
have been doing so ever since.
After years of nagging (you know
who you are) I recently started
teaching some classes as well.
Assisting and teaching classes
has definitely taught me a lot.
I take great pride in watching
the new puppies and their
handlers go from being unruly
energetic balls of fluff &
awkward handlers to well
mannered youngsters and
confident handlers.
My husband
and I own and operate a small
but very personal boarding
kennel on 10 acres in
Hillsburgh. Our Boarding kennel
is called Dawg Dayz Inn. We at
present share our lives with 10
Shelties and 2 Pomeranians. 6 of
these are adopted dogs. I
actively train and compete in
Obedience, Agility to the
National level as well as I
dabble in Rally-O. I have
trialed 4 of our shelties to
their Obedience Trial Champion
Title with Numerous 1st
& 2nd placings as
well as 2 High in Trials. One
Sheltie to her Master Obedience
Trial Champion Title who was
also #2 Sheltie, #3 Herding & #6
All breed dog in 2003. One
Sheltie to her Companion Dog
Excellence Title. One Sheltie to
his Companion Dog Title. Two of
these same Shelties I have also
trialed to their Agility Trial
Champion Titles with one having
achieved her Bronze award of
Merit and only has 3 Q’s left to
achieve her Silver Award of
Merit.
Presently
I am training 3 Shelties in
Agility and one in Obedience.
Two Pomeranians in Agility and
one in Obedience. I am a member
in good standing with the CKC,
CSSA, and AAC. We are also a
foster home for the Southern
Ontario Sheltie Rescue.
I hope to
be able to continue being
involved in classes at Campaign
for many more years to come
knowing in some small way I may
have helped to guide our canine
friends to be good canine
citizens in and out of the home
and just for the sheer enjoyment
of doing so.

I have had Shetland Sheepdogs
for 21 years. I started training
my first sheltie Dusty, in
British Columbia with the West
Kootenay Kennel Club. After
that, I was hooked on dog
training. When we moved to
Ontario in 1993 one of things
that made the move easier, was
knowing I would have a chance to
train at Campaign. I have not
been disappointed.
I have put an OTCH on my first 3
shelties. They also have titles
in rally and agility as well as
their Canine Good Neighbour. My
second sheltie “Kizzy” had
obedience titles in Canada, the
States and Bermuda.
I have also done numerous
courses on dog behaviour and
enjoy problem solving using
positive training methods.

My
first American Eskimo came to me
in 1985 when my son moved back
home. It was evident that AJ
was going to be my dog from the
moment. Shortly after AJ
passed over the Bridge, I
purchased Keluk in 1997. He
was a high energy pup and I knew
how important it was that
puppies be socialized, so after
making a few calls and watching
a puppy class at Campaign I knew
this was where we would take our
classes. I soon became addicted
to obedience. At the age of 5
Keluk earned the title of the
first American Eskimo with an
OTCh title.
I
started assisting classes
shortly after Keluk obtained his
CD. I have enjoyed working with
people new to the sport, or even
those looking for a well
mannered dog, that will walk
well on a lead.
I’ve
earned several titles on my
dogs:
OTCh.
CherryValley Keluk Amarok CGN,
Am. CDX Keluk still holds
the title for the first and only
American Eskimo dog with an O.T.
Ch.
CKC,
AKC, Rare Breed Champion, U-CD
Grand Champion Fissan’s Nakoora
Amarok CD, HIC
Finished CKC #1 American Eskimo
in 2006, Rare Breed All Breed
#1 Dog in 2002 & 2003, #2 in
2004. Koors earned a CKC Group
1st his first weekend
being shown, and many group
placements to his record.
Koors placed #6 in the top 10
American Eskimos in UKC 2003
CKC.
CKC. Rare Breed Champion, U-CD
Grand Champion Thundrpas Chawne
of Nuuktok CDX, HIC
Chawne
earned a Group 1, in her 2nd
weekend out after CKC
recognition, and finished #2 in
the top 5 CKC American Eskimo
Dogs.
CKC,
AKC, UKC Grand Champion
Nuuktok’s Now and Forever HIC.
Promise finished #3 in 2006,
completing her CKC Championship
with a group placement. In UKC
at 6 months old, she earned 3
group placements and a Reserve
Best in Show.
CKC,
UKC Champion Nuuktok’s Sugrak
Akiak Tonrar will finish the #1
American Eskimo for 2007.
I’m
very proud of what my dogs have
achieved, and believe that a dog
should be well rounded in
obedience and conformation.
I am
now working with a new puppy
“Nuuktok’s Atka Inukshuk” and
believe he will be my new O.T.
Ch dog.
I
enjoy coming out to assist
classes at any level especially
in Open and Utility where I have
had lots of experience with
various issues!! It has always
given me great pride to see what
owners and dogs have achieved in
classes. It is wonderful see the
young puppies grow and develop
and become better canine
citizens.

Duffer, the Schapendoes has
3 Can. conformation titles
in CKC, UKC and FCC.

Life for me has always been
about dogs. My parents never
let me have one as a young child
yet it didn't deter my love for
canines one little bit! I spent
all of my free time in the
company of neighbors' and family
friends' dogs just watching and
interacting with them. I've
always felt as though I could
communicate with dogs on their
level. As much as I loved the
endless parade of family cats,
rodents, fish, even birds; they
just weren't DOGS.
After completing the animal
health and technology course at
Sheridan college and securing my
first job in my chosen career
(pet groomer), I was finally
allowed to get a dog of my very
own! In 1990 I got my first
Australian shepherd and after I
got fed up with the
inappropriate puppy behaviours I
enrolled him in puppy classes.
We
won the coveted best puppy and
best handler awards, which
fueled my fire for obedience
training. I also acquired a Jack
Russell Terrier who taught me
some very important lessons in
patience and acceptance.
In 1995 I moved to Calgary
Alberta and it is there that I
found my true soul mate, REESE.
He was everything I could ask
for in an aussie- he excelled in
everything he did from
obedience, agility, herding,
therapy dog, performing in an
animal actors group, to just
being my very best friend.
My next aussie came along in
2000 and I had very high hopes
for his future in conformation,
obedience, herding, agility and
what ever else we decided to
tackle, so.. the hunt for the
school that could help to to
achieve this began. I started
attending classes at Campaign
Dog Academy and after one set
of classes, I knew that this was
everything I was looking for. I
started assisting classes in
2001 then went on to teaching
classes from puppy through
competitive levels, and am still
a fixture to this day.
Throughout the years, I have
attended many
seminars and workshops from some
of the top trainers,
behaviourists, and specialists
in the canine industry and in
the process have developed a
passion for helping people
understand and deal with their
dog's issues in a practical,
easy to understand manner,
either at Campaign or in
private, in-home consultations.
I currently share my home with
my 2 aussies, (currently retired
from competition) 2 young
children and husband, in
Georgetown Ont, and I own a
thriving grooming salon in
Stouffville Ontario. I eagerly
await my next "puppy star"
which I am hoping for later this
year(2008).

I have grown up around dogs
my whole life and could
never imagine living without
them. Several years ago I
was the proud owner of 5
Shelties that were wonderful
pets and companions. After
they had passed on my
husband and I decided to get
2 more dogs but were not
sure what breed. After
looking into a few breeds we
settled on the Mini-Aussies.
We liked their size,
temperament and most
importantly their eager to
please attitudes. We both
made a decision that we
wanted working dogs and set
forth on our path to train
them correctly using a
positive method. That is how
we found Campaign Dog
Academy in 2002. When we
checked them out we found
the instructors and students
looked like they were all
having fun and most
importantly the dogs were
happy while they were
learning.
After awhile I was asked to
assist classes. What a
thrill! It felt wonderful to
be able to pass on the
skills taught to me and know
that I was helping have a
positive impact on other
people and their dogs. While
training in obedience we
discovered Rally Obedience.
What a great sport that
helps build stronger
obedience skills with your
dog. We had started trialing
in obedience and rally when
I discovered agility and
that was it, I was hooked. I
set out on my path to learn
all I could, training with
different instructors and
attending seminars to
absorb all that I could. My
female, Jester has taken to
agility as if she were born
to it. We have competed at
several trials where she has
earned several titles and
continues to show me how
wonderful she is and how
willing she is to work. My
male, Merlin has been slower
in the learning process and
I have had to learn some
different skills to build
his confidence in agility,
but the time and effort has
been worth every second. My
biggest goals have been
realized, I am working with
dogs and building an amazing
relationship with my dogs.
I am completely privileged
to teach agility to amazing
students at Campaign while
watching them build strong
relationships with their
dogs.

I grew
up with dogs of various breeds
and always had a dog until our
first born child came into the
world with asthma and allergies.
A pet free environment followed
for several years. After a
second child and many ‘dogless’
years I was introduced to the
Portuguese Water Dog - a
non-shedding, hypoallergenic
breed that many allergy
sufferers could tolerate.
Soon
there after Sadee joined the
Bérubé family and my interest in
‘all things canine’ grew
significantly. I now breed PWD’s
under the registered kennel name
C’harbr (pronounced Sea
Harbour) and competes in
conformation, obedience, water
work, Rally-O and dabble in
agility with my four Pwd’s.
I also find spare time to
groom as well.
I
have earned several titles
including a Silver Award of
Merit from the Portuguese Water
Dog Club of America (in
recognition of overall
achievement) as well as #1
placement for the PWD breed in
obedience in Canada in 2006. My
family, human and dog, have all
attended training classes at
Campaign. All of our PWD’s are
titled in various areas and my
interest in sharing with others
has led me to assisting and then
instructing my own classes at
Campaign since 2002.

We always had a dog in the house
when I was growing so when I
bought my first house, I got my
first Miniature Schnauzer. At
that time I was unaware of the
world of Obedience.
I started training at Campaign
in Brampton. At that time I was
having problems with my first
Obedience dog, Madison, in the
Open class. I eventually got an
OTCH with her after many trials
and tribulations, and lots of
help and encouragement from the
instructors at Campaign. On the
way to the OTCH, we took a break
from Obedience to do Agility
which Madison much preferred to
Obedience. She has obtained her
Excellent standard and
Intermediate Jumpers with Weaves
titles in CKC Agility as well as
her Master Jumpers title in AAC
Agility. She is currently
working on other Masters titles.
She also has an Intermediate
Rally title.
After experiencing the wonderful
classes at Campaign, I started
my next two dogs at Campaign as
soon as they were old enough for
puppy class. Sage now needs one
more leg to finish her OTCH. She
has CKC Intermediate Agility
titles and is working at several
levels of AAC. She also has an
Intermediate Rally title.
My youngest dog, Silken, just
completed her CDX and will be
moving on to Utility.
One of the highlights of my
association with Campaign has
been assisting with some of the
puppy classes. They are always
fun and I learn something from
each instructor that I assist.

Along with
my mom, I have developed a
passion for dogs and especially
for the PWD breed. Although my
heart truly lies in the
conformation ring (showing all
breeds) having achieved several
titles including multiple Best
in Show, Best Puppy in Show,
Championship and Junior
competition titles, I also
excel in obedience.
I was the
first Junior handler in Canada
to earn a water certificate with
my first dog Sadee. I was
thrilled to take first place in
the Novice obedience class at
the Portuguese Water dog of
America National Specialty in
2005. In that same year (at the
tender age of 14) Nemeau
and I pointed to fourth place
overall in Canada for PWD's. in
the Conformation show ring
competing against top
professional handlers.
I have
worked and assisted some of the
top professional dog handlers
for conformation. I have
attended puppy through to Open
Refresher classes at Campaign
and have worked with some great
trainers here. I have trialed in
Novice and Open obedience.
I am now an assistant /
instructor at Campaign.
"
Campaign Dog Academy has played
a significant role in my
development" and I feel like I
am part of an extended family!

I've loved dogs from the
time I was a year old.
However, my mom decided to
find a new home for our
cocker puppy when I began
barking instead of talking!
Although we had several dogs
while I was growing up, it
wasn't till after university
(Masters in Botany),
teaching Biology in high
school and ten years of
marriage that I made my
first attempt at training
with a resued mixed breed in
1992.
We tried agility before
realizing that obedience
would be very helpful and it
made the world of
difference! In 1993,
Chipper, an English Springer
Spaniel, became part of our
family. He started puppy
kindergarten that spring at
Campaign and with the help
of staff at Campaign and
friends from Swansea, he
went on to earn his OTCH by
the end of '95, his American
UD by the end of '96 and he
became #8 Obedience Dog in
Canada in '97. Along the
way he had learned to track
(earning TD and TDX) and
this amazing dog excelled in
agility too, earning his AAC
championship in early 2001,
as well as other agility
titles with NADAC and CKC.
My second Springer, Lexi,
has earned her OTCH, her
starters and novice titles
in agility and her
Versatility title in CARO
(Rally Obedience). We're
currently working towards
her OTCHX and hopefully
MOTCH with plans to
eventually return to agility
and begin trialling in CKC
rally.
I enjoy teaching and still
love dogs although I don't
bark at them anymore.

In
November 2003 I got my very
first dog…a Nova Scotia Duck
Tolling Retriever I named
Molly. Knowing very little
about raising a puppy, “Puppies
for Dummies” became my bible.
I
had committed to the breeder
that I would take a basic puppy
obedience class with Molly.
Soon after her arrival, I
started the search for a dog
school reasonably close to my
home. I found Campaign Dog
Academy and started Junior Puppy
Level 1 in January 2004. I had
no intention of doing
competitive obedience but with
that basic obedience class, I
just kept going!!!! I had been
bitten by the obedience bug!!!!
Molly
obtained her Companion Dog title
and one leg towards her
Companion Dog Excellent title.
We also took agility classes at
Campaign that were both fun and
rewarding for us and resulted in
many qualifying titles.
My
new Duck Toller puppy, Chloe, is
a student at Campaign. I will
be training her for competitive
obedience and agility, as well
as showing her in conformation
to get a Championship title.
Also I am considering a hunting
retriever title in our spare
time!!!!
In
2006, I was asked to assist with
Campaign’s puppy classes. I
thoroughly enjoy watching and
helping new puppy owners and
their dogs as they progress
through the program. It is
especially rewarding to see the
difference in the puppies and
their owners from the first
class to the last class. I look
forward to continuing my
involvement in Campaign’s puppy
classes, as both a student with
Chloe and as an assistant
instructor.

While
growing up we always had dogs,
some purebred, some mixed. They
all had special personalities
and they taught us a lot about
having fun and empathy. We
muddled through the training
like most people and we kids
shared our adventures with our
dogs.
After
high school, I trained and
showed horses, and learned the
fundamental importance of timing
cues and rewards, something that
has helped me immensely with
training dogs.
Then
began my university years – no
dogs, alas, until I graduated
and had the privilege of working
for a professor on a study of
blue grouse on Vancouver Island.
We used English Pointers to find
the birds for banding and I
gained a huge appreciation not
just for their scenting
expertise and intelligence, but
also for the great range of
individual personality, work
ethic and ease of training. I
knew then that some day dog
training would need to be
revisited but it would have to
wait until I found more time
when my children were older.
My
first crack at obedience came
with a lovely flat-coated
retriever, Zoey, whom I never
trialed because of shoulder
problems which developed by the
time she was three. I was not
satisfied with the amount of
correction involved in the
training classes I was attending
at the time; I wanted to learn
more motivational methods which
produce a dog that works with
joy and enthusiasm. Some years
later, when I was looking for a
puppy, I met Deb Desjardins at a
dog show, where she recommended
a breeder. We acquired our
Papillon, Austin, a few months
later and started him in puppy
classes at Campaign in 2005.
With the help of Anne, Isobel,
Deb, Karen and many other staff
and students, he earned his CD
and CDX in 2007, has started
Utility and Agility, and knows
numerous tricks. His enthusiasm,
speed and goofy antics keep us
all laughing. I attribute his
confidence and happy attitude to
the positive methods used at
Campaign.
I’m
among the newest assistants at
Campaign and I hope to help new
puppy owners discover a joyful
and efficient way to train,
using positive reinforcement and
play, while I expand and refine
my own understanding and skills.
